CHILDREN & YOUTH PROGRAMS

Purpose of Children's Programs at NBMCTo provide an opportunity for our children to develop a personal relationship with Christ, encouraging a life-long commitment to the church through discipleship, service and outreach.

NBMC Children & Youth Programs are given direction and oversight by the Christian Education Commission.  This includes screening of all volunteers, teachers, and mentors who work with our children and youth.

PROGRAMS INCLUDE:

Nursery Care
is provided for babies and toddlers (up through age 2) during the Sunday School and morning worship hours (9:30 am - 12 pm).

Christian Education Classes are held every Sunday morning at 9:30-10:15 for all ages.

Children's Church is held each Sunday morning during the second half of our worship service (ages 3 through 1st Grade).

Jr & Sr Youth Groups are held for youth in sixth grade through high school, meeting the first and third Friday evening of each month.  A variety of additional activities are planned throughout the year, including annual Jr & Sr Youth Retreats.

Friends for the Journey is a mentoring program that matches youth with adults in the congregation.  Each youth makes a list of adults they would like to have as mentors, and matches are made as able.  Each youth and mentor pair meet for various activities and informal check-in times, as well as occasional Friends for the Journey activities with everyone involved in the program.

Catechism Classes are available for young people seeking to be baptized.

Vacation Bible School is held each summer for children ages 4 years old through 5th Grade (completed).  We have used various formats including meeting each evening for a week, and most recently, having a weekend Bible School.

A Christmas Program & Community Christmas Celebration is held each year in December.  This is a wonderful time for potluck, games, presentations/skits (from each Sunday School class), cookie decorating and more.  Everyone is invited to participate.
