Gift Discernment – Everyone should have received the 2008 Gift Discernment Form (by email and in church mailboxes). Please note the interim committees listed on the back. Completed forms should be returned no later than June 1 by email (admin@enbmc.org) or to box in the church office. Thank you!
Prayer Guide for the Interim – Pastor Bartow has put together a resource for our individual & collective prayer time, focusing on the interim period between long-term pastors. Copies are in your church mailbox and extras are available on the resource table. Please use this guide in ways you find helpful.
Special Prayer Services will be held at NBMC from 7-8:00 PM on the first and third Fridays of each month, beginning in June. The focus will be praying for NBMC, the points raised in the assessment, and interim concerns. Pastor Bartow will lead the group in various forms of prayer and spiritual disciplines.
Pledges for Sing the Journey and Sing the Story – NBMC is considering purchasing these hymnal supplements, dependent on congregational support. If you are interested in making a donation ($10/book), please complete the enclosed slip and place in the offering plate. We will only purchase these supplements if there is enough interest.
New Phone List – The new NBMC Phone List has been compiled and copies are in your church mailbox. Please discard or file your previous copy since there are numerous updates. If you would like additional copies, email admin@enbmc.org or call the church office.

Calling all artists! Frazer Mennonite Church is soliciting original
works of art (in many mediums) for this festival. The festival will
provide an intersection of faith, art and peacemaking that is designed
to spark an interactive exchange that is authentic and visionary. For

Support for Myanmar – At the time this bulletin was printed, the number of lives lost due to Cyclone Nargis had reached 20,000 [editors note: the number is now over 100,000] and 1 million people had lost their homes. Mennonite Central Committee is accepting financial contributions for Myanmar emergency assistance and will channel these funds to cyclone relief and recovery efforts. PRAYER BULLETIN
for the week of May 11 - 17, 2008
Monday - Continue to pray for everyone effected by the cyclone in Myanmar. May they receive what they need to help rebuild and support their community.
Tuesday - Pray for the Youth for Christ fundraiser that is being held tonight. Thank God for the mission work that Youth for Christ provides.
Wednesday - Pray for the Mennonite Voluntary Service workers Laura Helmuth, Sarah Buskirk, and Amelia Steadman. May their term in Baltimore be a time of enrichment and spiritual growth.
Thursday - Pray for people who are hungry around the world as they are faced with ever higher food costs.
Friday - Pray for the Jr and Sr Youth groups tonight as they meet. Pray that their time together brings worship and glory to God.
Saturday - Give thanks for Maegan Yoder and her declaration of faith through baptism. Pray that God will continue to bless and sustain her on her faith journey.
This week pray for Jyoti, Paula, and Cheyenne Tandon, and Mark and Twila Taylor.
Mennonite Education Agency: On this Mother’s Day, pray for wisdom in knowing how to advocate for single mothers who have to work to provide for their families—often earning 40 percent less than a man with equivalent education and experience. (Early Childhood Network)
